Presentations
THE LONGEST ROAD was written to provide hope to individuals, friends and families dealing with addiction, gang involvement or both. For many, the book itself will be entirely adequate. Others will want supplementary information and support. The authors offer a suite of services to meet additional needs through the Yo Bro Yo Girl Youth Initiative website—ybyg.ca—as well as the To Hell and Back portal: tohellandback.ca. These include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Keynote presentations by Joe Calendino focusing on his life, his work and his road maps for overcoming addiction.
- Panel discussions by the authors on the background and contents of The Longest Road.
- Interactive workshops led by Joe Calendino and associates that are designed for different audiences, including youth, educators, social workers, counsellors, law enforcement personnel and helping agencies.
- A workshop entitled "Life after the 9-to-5 Grind," in which co-author Gary Little guides retirees through a step-by-step model to assist them in pursuing creative endeavours as part of their retirement.
